Her Story
A voice reclaimed
Jodi Lynn Pavlock is an American author, filmmaker, speaker, and survivor-story advocate whose autobiography, Jekyll Can’t Hyde, explores love, deception, narcissistic abuse, resilience, and reclaiming independence.
Raised in Bergenfield, New Jersey, Jodi developed an early love of music through trumpet and singing. Her professional life has included nearly two decades transporting students, as well as work connected to casino hosting, notary services, and New Jersey real estate.
Her life changed through relationships that gradually affected her emotional well-being, physical health, financial security, and sense of independence. Writing Jekyll Can’t Hyde gave Jodi a way to revisit those experiences in her own voice—combining honesty, humour, pain, and the determination to move forward.
Today, Jodi continues developing her story for the screen while speaking about the importance of recognizing abusive patterns, supporting survivors, and creating a life beyond what happened.
Career history, location, health, family, advocacy title, coaching status, and speaking credentials are presented only with Jodi’s approval. Medical details are not disclosed without express permission.
Why I Told My Story
“I wrote Jekyll Can’t Hyde because abuse often hides behind charm, promises, apologies, and the life someone wants others to see. I wanted to tell the truth about what happened, but I also wanted readers to know that the story does not have to end with what was done to you. There can be another chapter—one built around strength, independence, support, and finding yourself again.”
